Doors that lead to you.

Historical places have always held a certain allure for many people, and for many couples, these places have become the perfect destination for a romantic getaway. From grand castles and palaces to quaint villages and charming towns, these places offer a glimpse into the past, providing a sense of nostalgia and a sense of connection to our shared history. But beyond the historical significance, these places also hold a hidden romance that is often overlooked by many. Whether it's the winding cobblestone streets, the lush gardens, or the grand architecture, there is something undeniably romantic about these places that can't be found in modern-day destinations. One such is the hidden romantics of historical places I found in Junagrah Fort, situated in Bikaner, Rajasthan and how it became a favourite spot for me to escape the every day and experience a bit of magic.
P.S. I wish you were here too.

I was walking across the doorways of the fort and came across these magnificent wooden doors, that had handles almost rusted yet they were shining for having survived the wars and glory. I touched the handles and questioned myself: what are doors, why do we need them? Why did kings erect doors so royal, so romantic? Why did they carve stories of battle and stories of love on the doors? I stood there holding the door handle, lost somewhere else, thinking about the continual source of muse and love. I substantiated my emotions and discerned that they are the threshold to something new, a symbol of love and emotion so true. For when we open a door, we open our hearts, to a new chapter, a fresh start, in a moonless night, a lark craving for light in the dark. With each door we open, we take a chance, an endless trance, to let love in or to dance in the romance. Doors aren't just meant as a way to enter or leave, but as a symbol of trust and the power to embrace. I embrace each door I come across, for it leads me to love. A love that leads to you.

I’m a crazy romantic and all I could think of while touching the door handles was that you might have touched them too and before even we both existed, the kings and queens would have touched them too while heading to their royal beds, where a scent so magical occupied their room, a place where they fell asleep in all royalty, comfort and luxury.
I might not be able to give you a palace, or antique doors but I can give you the comfort you seek, for you are my royalty and you are my only luxury.
